Sound causes the Torquay to close

Another Hotel bites the dust due to soundproofing woes. Rude Bar, below the former Queens Hotel on Victoria Parade, overlooking the town harbour, shut after Torbay Council issued a noise abatement notice. If noise was their only problem we think they could have solved it by soundproofing their walls and ceilings with a damping compound like Green Glue as described in this soundproofing walls article. However it looks like this one had a host of other problems to go along including flooding. As King Solomen says “There is a time for everything” and this might just be the right time to close it up and start something new elsewhere.
